This was created for the advocate project from art class. I personally love fashion and developing a unique style no matter what outfits or clothing items are "made for" a specific gender. I also really love creating, designing, and decorating clothing pieces to make them more my style or make them less boring. This piece combines those two passions in my life by taking a "man's suit" and using more feminine colors and imagery to intermix the two stereotypes. The back features the ouroboros snake that can mean the unity of opposites and the idea of re-creation. It also create the gender neutral symbol representing that clothing and style should encompass everyone regardless of gender identity and shouldn't be divided by society's stereotypes of how people should be dressed.
Materials: men's suit, acrylic, paint pen, jewels, iron-on vinyl
