Scholastic 2021 Art and Writing Silver Key Award Winner
This piece represents how many voices and words have been silenced by those trying to avoid making necessary changes. The lips and the colorful embroidery string coming out of them were all sewn by hand (definitely one of my hardest pieces) and the background is acrylic paint in different skin tones to represent the diversity in the types of voices.
